The concerns were raised at the TriTek Academy EdTech Summit held in Lagos on May 16, 2026, under the theme, “Redefining Education for a Digital Africa.” The summit, organised by founder of TriTek Academy, Dr. Adeshola Cole, brought together educators, HR professionals, tech specialists, marketers, founders, policy advocates, and young professionals to discuss the widening gap between technical training and workplace relevance across Africa’s growing technology ecosystem. ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT: Uzoma Ajugwe, Others Call for Urgent Action as Study Flags Severe Slugging Threat to Deepwater Oil Production

Image
A recent study published in the Journal of Petroleum and Mining Engineering has drawn attention to the persistent challenge of severe slugging in deepwater oil production, warning that the phenomenon continues to undermine efficiency, safety, and output stability in offshore operations. The paper, titled “An Investigation of Severe Slugging Mitigation Techniques in Deepwater Oil Field Scenario: A Review Study,” examines unstable multiphase flow conditions in subsea pipelines and how they disrupt continuous production in deepwater oil fields. The research was co-authored by Dr. Ndubuisi N. Okereke, Christian Okalla, Uzoma Ajugwe, Charley I. Anyadiegwu, Anthony Kerunwa A.A., and Stephen G. Udeagbara. Understanding the Problem: What is Severe Slugging? According to the study, severe slugging remains one of the most critical flow assurance challenges in the oil and gas sector. It occurs when oil, water, and gas fail to flow uniformly through pipelines, resulting in alternating “slugs”...

Why I’m Excited to Launch PRODUCTIVIEW -Joyce Agwu

Image
By Joyce Agwu As someone who has worked in marketing and also built businesses, I’ve experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to manage trust, collaboration, and digital assets effectively. Over the years, I noticed a recurring problem. Businesses are constantly sharing sensitive files, strategies, brand assets, and internal resources with employees, freelancers, agencies, and contractors just to keep operations moving. At the same time, marketing professionals and creatives often struggle with safely showcasing their work without exposing themselves to misuse or idea theft. It creates tension on both sides. Employers become afraid of losing control over their intellectual property, while professionals feel limited, over-monitored, or unsafe sharing their best work. That’s one of the major reasons PRODUCTIVIEW was born. I wanted to create a platform that helps businesses stay organized and protected, while also helping professionals work with more confidence and freedom. PRODUCTIV...
