Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka, Chef Colombs to Headline ARTCATION's Fourth Edition

Nigeria's pioneering immersive art and culinary platform, ARTCATION, is set to return for its fourth edition, bringing together some of the country's finest chefs and contemporary artists in a celebration of African creativity, culture and storytelling.

The organisers announced that this year's edition will feature renowned culinary experts Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka and Chef Colombs, who will lead the gastronomic experience alongside an impressive lineup of contemporary visual artists.

Since its debut in 2024, ARTCATION has evolved beyond a conventional art exhibition, establishing itself as a unique cultural platform that merges contemporary visual art, gastronomy, performance and storytelling to create immersive experiences for audiences.

Over the past three editions, the platform has showcased works by notable artists including Joseph Abdallah, 12th, Mariam Olubunmi Aliu, Adetola Adenuga and Chuma Anagbado. It has also attracted support from major brands, including Wakanow, which served as the headline sponsor of its previous edition.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Founder and Curator of ARTCATION, Gbotemi, said the platform was created to transform how people engage with art while setting new standards for immersive cultural experiences.

"We created a niche and became our own competition. The standard," Gbotemi said.

He added: "ARTCATION was never created to be another event on the calendar. Our vision has always been to build a platform that changes how people experience art. We are creating a cultural language where artists, chefs and creatives collaborate to tell stories that are deeply African, emotionally engaging and globally relevant. Every edition pushes us to raise the standard we have set for ourselves."

According to the organisers, the fourth edition will deepen the connection between art, food, design, performance and storytelling by transforming exhibitions into fully immersive experiences rather than presenting artworks in isolation.

The culinary showcase, to be led by Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka and Chef Colombs, is expected to complement exhibitions by leading contemporary artists, reinforcing ARTCATION's belief that food is a powerful medium for storytelling alongside visual art.

The organisers said the platform remains committed to building a thriving ecosystem for immersive art experiences in Nigeria and across Africa by fostering collaboration among artists, chefs, designers and other creative practitioners.

They noted that this year's edition will feature expanded programming, new creative partnerships and innovative experiences designed to celebrate African heritage through contemporary expression.

Further details, including the event date, venue, participating artists and programme highlights, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
